Writing the posts for my monthly favourites is always a fun activity for me. It makes me realise how many good and useful things I have in my life. It brings more awareness of the items I use every day and how what I choose to use or not to use matters to my wellbeing. I hope you will find my May favourites useful as well*! 🙂 Here they are.
1.Favourite cosmetic: Zoya Nail PolishÂ
This nail polish is just amazing! It doesn’t chip easily and stays perfect for days! Great for busy women who don’t have the time to do their nails too often. Zoya has so many nice colours so you will not be bored with the palette. I am a fan of the soft, pastel colours. They are really feminine and elegant. I have found this brand about two years just before I became pregnant and started to pay more attention not only to what I put in my body food-wise, but also on what I put on it cosmetic-wise . Cosmetics can contain a lot of chemicals, and they are absorbed in our body through the skin, so it is important to pay attention to the ingredients. Zoya nail polish is formulated without formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, dibutyl phthalate, toluene, camphor, TPHP, parabens, xylene, ethyl tosylamide and lead. These are all toxic ingredients that can disrupt the endocrine system and they can leach into your body. So far I have not found a better nail polish that meets both these criteria I listed above.
2. Favourite Kitchen Item: Orgeenic PanÂ
We have a nice cast iron pan at home that I love, but I wanted a non-stick pan that is easy to maintain and is free of toxic ingredients. It is PTFE and PFOA free and the ceramic nonstick interior cooking surface also allows you to cook without using much oil. So far I am very happy with it. It is important that you season it according to the instructions before the first use to get the best out of the pan.
3. Favourite Snack: Pumpkin Seed ButterÂ
I really like the flavour of this pumpkin seed butter! It is perfect on a toast or to use when you make a dip. Pumpkin seeds are a good source of minerals, such as copper, zinc, antioxidants and plant protein, so it is good to include them regularly in your diet. With this butter this would not be a problem. My husband is not a big fan of it, but I personally really like it.
4. Favourite Audiobook: Brain rules for babyÂ
The perfect blend of educational and entertaining book! I laughed so often while listening to it. Brain rules for baby is such a good book for parents and parents to be, and I wholeheartedly recommend it! It presents the most recent research on the development of intelligence, happiness and good behaviour in children. The author points out that the brain does not seek to learn first. It seeks safety. With this in mind he then recommends parents to focus on harmonious upbringing of their child, and avoid stress and “hyperparenting”. It is direct and offers a lot of interesting tips on how to raise a smart and happy child.
*I AM NOT RECEIVING ANY INCENTIVES FOR THE ITEMS I HAVE SHARED IN THIS POST. THESE ARE JUST ITEMS THAT I HAVE FOUND USEFUL IN MY LIFE AND THAT HAVE BEENÂ BENEFICIAL FOR ME.Â
What were your favourite items last month? I’d love to hear from you too!Â
