With March here, I am already impatiently waiting for spring to arrive! Let’s try to keep our minds off the still rainy and grey weather by reviewing some of my favourite items for February*. Here there are:

1.Favourite Kitchen/Home item: Sonett Cleaning Products

Ever since giving birth to Raya I have been paying extra attention to everything she could get in touch with. Not in an obsessive way, but in a more aware way. One surely can’t prevent her from every kind of hazard, but my motto is to do my best in the environment I can control, like my home. Cleaning products are known for containing lots of nasty chemicals and toxic compounds. And I just don’t feel good knowing my baby is crawling on the floor that I just washed using this kind of product! Sonett just gives me a peace of mind not only because it contains none of the things above, but also because it is biodegradable and just a kind product. This is their statement:

“All of our raw materials are completely biodegradable and free of synthetic fragrances, dyestuffs and preservatives, they are without any enzymes and petrochemical surfactants, contain no bleaching agents, and neither genetic engineering nor nanotechnology has been used. The oils used for our soaps and all of our essential oils originate 100% from certified organic cultivation.”

I should also add that they leave a really nice scent after cleaning with them, and that they do their job pretty well too. I think I have almost their entire range of products,  including their laundry liquid sensitive, which I love!

2. Favourite Cosmetics: Styx Shea Butter hand cream

I saw this hand cream a few weeks ago and decided to give it a try. My hands get really dry during winter time, and I need a good hand cream with a fattier consistency to coat my skin well and keep it well hydrated. I am really happy with the results from this cream! It applies and absorbs very well, and leaves my hands soft and hydrated. As already mentioned it is a bit on the heavy side, but this is perfect for me. If you prefer lighter creams, than it can be a very good solution to apply it in the evenings before going to bed. I contains 20% shea butter, which is the biggest plus, and it smells sooo good! It’s on the pricey side though, but a little bit of it goes a long way.

3. Favourite Food: Arche Onozaki Rise Miso

I have been making lots of miso soup lately. It is such an easy way to get in more nutritious food into your day, and a warm bowl of soup just warms up the soul. I used to think making miso soup is complicated, it turned out it is not! I don’t use fish sauce in my miso soup, so having a flavourful miso is a must. I really like the taste of this one! It is rich, full and kind of spicy. A little bit of it goes a long way!

4. Favourite Food: Kulau Seaweed

You can’t really make a good miso soup without some seaweed in it. I like this brand, because their organic seaweed comes from the French or Spanish Atlantic coast, and their origin is important to me. I have the Dulse and Wakame dried seaweed and I love their flavour! Seaweed contains lots of minerals, such as calcium and iron. It is an amazing source of iodine – important for maintaining a healthy function of the thyroid, which helps produce and regulate hormone levels.

5. Favourite Book: The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg

I have this book on Audible and I listen to it, while I’m walking or driving in the car. It is an interesting book that explores how habits are formed, how they function and how they can influence our life. It also talks about how we can change our habits. It brings light onto how we can create new habits, and makes you review your life and how much actually we do on autopilot, by habit. A must read if you want to change some of your habits or create new, better ones.

*I am not receiving any incentives for the items I have shared in this post. These are just items that I have found useful in my life and that have been beneficial for me.
