Last week I had the pleasure to attend the first Luxembourg edition of the charity event Les Sapins De Noël Des Créateurs. This event, which is in its 22nd edition in Paris brings together the best and brightest of the worlds of fashion, architecture and design for a charitable cause. Under the impetus of Madame Marie-Christiane Marek, renowned artists and prestigious fashion houses get to work every year as December comes around the corner to come up with original works of art that embody the spirit of Christmas.
The first Luxembourg edition of the event was held at the Cercle Cité. 16 original works of art created especially for the occasion were auctioned to benefit of the Cancer Foundation, under the High Patronage of Her Royal Highness the Grand Duchess. Over 32 000 EUR were collected to fund a good cause as the money raised goes to cancer research.
The auction then gave way to a cocktail party organized by Steffen Traiteur. Apart from the delicious canapés and bites, I was impressed by the animation Steffen Traiteur proposed. A simple table was set with various green herbs that we were encouraged to try. The taste of the herbs varied from celery, to oyster and cheese… It offered a touch of a pleasant surprise as we were discovering the unusual flavours.
The evening proceeded with a gala dinner prepared by 4 star chefs from Luxembourg and 4 prestigious sous chefs: Jean Labarrère-Claverie (Le Cibo’s) and Mathieu Morvan (La Cristallerie), Cyril Molard (Ma langue sourit) and Patrice Osswald (Le Clairefontaine), René Mathieu (La Distillerie) et Arnaud Deparis (Cube), Renato Favaro (Favaro) et Thomas Murer (Aal Schoul).
It was a beautiful evening!
